Aggressive deburring brush

The disc brush can be mounted in CNC machines directly onto a shell mill holder without requiring a separate drive arbourWEILER has released a high aggression enhanced deburring brush with cut rates up to four times faster than standard silicon carbide brushes.

According to the company, its Burr-Rx brushes are compliant deburring tools. It uses black nylon filaments co-extruded with high aggression ceramic grains. This is said to provide cut rates up to 400% faster than silicon carbide filaments.

By ramping up the aggression of the brushes, the company claims it can reduce cycle times by allowing high feed rates and short dwell times. This can increase throughput and lower costs. The enhanced brushes can also remove burrs conventional abrasives could not.

The disc brush can be mounted in CNC machines directly onto a shell mill holder without requiring a separate drive arbour. They are also said to have a consistent, flat brush face, resulting in precision and consistency.

The company also claims it used composite metal hub wheels which offer a 50% high filament density than traditional brushes, allowing increased accuracy and stability and reduced vibration.

The ceramic grain brushes can be used to deburr materials such as inconel, stainless steel and titanium.
