According to the company, the Arcos 803 is a covered electrode designed for shielded metal arc welding of wrought or cast copper-nickel alloys. It can also weld the clad side of copper-nickel clad steel.

The electrode is said to offer resistance to corrosion in seawater, making for applications in desalination plants, offshore construction and marine environment welding applications.
