Diesel welding generator with shielded electronics

The unit is said to offer better downhill pipe welding performance, as well as better MIG, flux cored and TIG arc startsMILLER Electric Manufacturing has released a diesel welding generator which is said to have improved reliability and fewer and more robust electronic components.
The PRO 300 generator can be upgraded with an optional 4-cylinder 24-HP Deutz engine for more power when using larger electrodes and gouging with carbons up to 0.635cm in diameter. The manufacturer claims the engine is more reliable and offers smoother and quieter operation.
According to the company, more power can compensate for less oxygen in higher elevations. The generator provides 20 to 410 amps of welding power, and 12,000 watts of peak generator power.
The unit is said to offer better downhill pipe welding performance, as well as better MIG, flux cored and TIG arc starts. It is suited for construction fleets, small contractors and pipe welders. The manufacturer claims the generator offers a more focused arc in the root and hot pass, and an earlier dig control.
The generator uses one simplified circuit board housed in an aluminium shell with silicone to provide a clean and watertight environment for the electronics. It also features a digital voltage control that allows operators to pre-set and maintain voltage, creating more stable arc starts and avoiding spatters.
Miller Electric equipment are available through Welding Industries of Australia.
