EDM machine makes hard metal work fast
MITSUBISHI has released a small hole electrical discharge machining (EDM) drill said to have five times the positioning speed for three axes compared with previous models.
The ED6000S CNC small hole EDM drill has a M730 Series Mitsubishi control, and a Windows XP-based touch screen display for operation and programming.
It uses a collet-type chucking system for clamping smaller electrode tubes, while a Constant Processing Circuit (CPC) reduces wear on the electrodes.
The machine comes with a MELFA Robot which controls the 20-position Automatic Electrode Changer (AEC), and a 10-position Guide Changer for quick tool changing during production.
