SPERIAN Protection has released a high impact welding helmet said to offer protection, comfort and versatility.
The Optrel Galaxy is a passive flip-front unit, with approval under the High Impact AS/NZS1337 standard. It is suited for grinding and welding applications and has a passive shade ten welding filter that can be flipped up when not welding.
Under the adapter is a viewing area made of clear polycarbonate. The welder does not need to switch from a welding helmet to a visor when transitioning tasks between welding and grinding.
According to the company, the helmet can be converted to auto-darkening by replacing the passive shade lens with an Optrel Nova auto-darkening lens.
