LMT2009 will be held between 28 June and 1 July 2009 at Q1 Resort and Spa, Surfer’s Paradise in Queensland. The previous 2007 conference was held in Canada. Registrations will be open from August 2008.
The conferences are said to provide opportunities for companies, academic institutions and government research agencies to learn about new research and development undertaken in light metals in a collaborative manner. They are organised by the Global Light Metals Alliance, which counts the CAST Cooperative Research Centre in Australia as one of its members.
According to the organisers, LMT2009 will have information on aluminium, titanium and magnesium alloys, with special reference to automotive, aerospace, defence and medical applications.
The call for papers for the conference is also open. Papers will be presented orally or on posters during the proceedings, and will also be published as part of the conference proceedings.
