Metal workers called to regional Victoria

THE VICTORIAN government has called on metal fabrication, welding and engineering workers to work in Wodonga, a city in north-east Victoria.THE VICTORIAN government has called on metal fabrication, welding and engineering workers to work in Wodonga, a city in north-east Victoria.
The state government is providing $36,000 to attract skilled workers to the provincial region. It is especially looking to attract workers from the mortgage belt areas in Melbourne.
According to the government, the area is experiencing a strong rate of growth, and has one of the highest employment rates in regional Australia.
The funds will be mostly used to publicise the work opportunities in newspapers and at visitor information centres.
