Multi-tasking machining centre suited for automotive work

MAZAK has released a multi-tasking twin-turret, twin-spindle turning and machining centre for the automotive industry.
The Hyper Quadrex 100MSY is said to be highly productive, with rigidity and high-efficiency turning and machining.
It has two horizontally opposed spindles which rotate at 6000rpm. The machine also features upper and lower 12-position tool turrets, both of which can traverse in he Y-axis for off-centre machining operations.
The main and secondary spindles can operate together or separately, so a single part can be machined on all surfaces through a coordinate “hand-off” between spindles. Two different parts can be machined simultaneously on the one machine.
In balanced cutting, two tools work together on the same feature such as rough and finish turning, rough and finish milling, or opposed feature drilling, tapping, or boring utilizing the Y-axes.
Mazak machines are distributed by John Hart in Australia.
