New version of all-electric CNC bending machine

According to the company, the new Twin Head machine will be able to bend to smaller radii, create shorter distances between bends, and provide enhanced control. UNISON says it is releasing a new version of its all-electric twin-head computer numerical control (CNC) bending machine with expanded versatility.
According to the company, the new Twin Head machine will be able to bend to smaller radii, create shorter distances between bends, and provide enhanced control.
Included human-machine interface (HMI) software will help users deal with variations in material quality.
Most twin-head benders currently use hydraulics as the source of mechanical power. Unison claims all-electric machines can reduce power consumption by up to 90%.
Twin-head machines are used in cost sensitive applications, which are seeing profit margins being cut by rising metal prices. According to the company, by switching to all-electric units, metal parts fabricators can benefit from higher degrees of automation as well as retain profit margins.
The new machine is a five-axis solution suited for bending symmetrical metal parts. The left and right bending heads are situated on twin carriage, with a central rotation control axis. It can bend tubes, rods, flat stock and aluminium profiles with diameters from 25.4 to 127mm, and to angles up to 180 degrees.
