SOUTH Australia based Korvest Galvanisers has appointed a new general manager who it hopes will help increase SA’s market share in the galvanising industry.

According to Korvest Galvanisers, it has engaged in the Lean Manufacturing process, and the new general manager Steven Evans will continue to optimise plant efficiency, safety standards and increase customer satisfaction.

Evans says South Australia is well-positioned geographically to carry out galvanising work for clients all over Australia in many industries.

Evans has a Masters Degree in Materials Engineering and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management, and has a strong background in the steel and steel processing industries in Australia and South Africa.

Prior to taking up this position, Evans was Manufacturing Manager with Graham Group in NSW. He has worked as Plant Manager at Ai Automotive and Operations Manager at Onesteel Whyalla. Before this, he had 20-year career in the steel sector in South Africa working for Strip Steel, Wire Systems Technology, Consolidated Wire Industries and Mittal Steel.

Evans will manage all aspects of Korvest Galvanisers including customer service, sales, production and plant availability, along with the safety and sustainability of the galvanising plant.

Korvest has three integrated divisions, EzyStrut, Indax and Korvest Galvanisers, providing a range of products.
