ORGANISERS of the Light Metals Technology conference have issued a reminder that the event will take place from 28 June to 1 July on the Gold Coast.
According to CAST CRC, the Light Metals Technology conference is a key part of the Australian Department of Defence’s New Air Combat Capability (NACC) Project.
The initiative aims to position Australian industry and research organisations to be able to engage in leading edge collaborative projects over the life of the Joint Strike Fighter Program. Lockheed Martin, BAE SYSTEMS, Rolls Royce and General Electric are supporting and participating in the conference.
The conference program includes presentations from Rolls-Royce General Motors, GE Aviation, Lockheed Martin, and the China Baoti Group.
Rolls-Royce will present on aero engine titanium from alloys to composites, Henkel Australia will talk about structural bonding for lightweight construction, and Rio Tinto Alcan will advise on the current state and long term view of the aluminium industry.
The International Light Metals Technology conference is held every two years by a member of the Global Light Metals Alliance. Previous LMT conferences have been held in Australia (2003), Austria (2005) and Canada (2007).
