Merger to strengthen aluminium services

THOMAS & Coffey will expand its services to the aluminium industry, after buying Gladstone-based Holcan.

Holcan provides aluminium fabrication and project services. It has also supplied specialised anode maintenance services to Boyne Smelters in Gladestone for 25 years. It is said to be a leader in smelting processes.

According to the companies, the acquisition will not affect the present contract with the smelters, which run for another two years.

Thomas & Coffey says their Gladstone business will be consolidated into Holcan’s 7000 square metre facility.
