SCHUNK says it recently presented its PSM 400 laser welding machine for the first time at Euromold 2009 in Germany.
According to Schunk, its PSM 400 is suitable for partially automated deposition welding and repair welding of challenging materials and complex component geometries. The unit can detect a wide range of parts quickly, even free-form surfaces for which no geometric data exists, due to an intelligent teaching and programming function.
The PSM 400 laser welding machine is said to set a new standards in the efficient laser machining of single pieces as well as in small and medium-scale production.
Schunk says the machine can three dimensionally detect complex parts, parts with surface damage or worn parts without the need for time-consuming external programming.
Schunk products and parts are available in Australia.
