Electrode suited for hydroelectric and petroleum welding

The electrode also produces self-peeling slag for to facilitate clean up.SAB WELDING & Cutting has released an all-position, gas-shielded, flux-cored electrode suited for fabricating and repairing components made of wrought stainless steel.

The Shield-Bright 410NiMo has a spray-like transfer which is said to enhance the arc characteristics while minimising post-weld clean up and rework. According to the company, the product is easy to use and delivers consistent quality welds.

The electrode also produces self-peeling slag for to facilitate clean up. It is optimised for welding UNS S31500 wrought stainless steel, CA-6NM cast steel and other 13Cr4NiMo steels. These metals are commonly used for hydroelectric turbines and in the petroleum industry.

The manufacturer claims the 410 has corrosion resistant properties which allow it to stand up to rapidly flowing water. It should be used with 75% Argon and 25% CO2 shielding gas.
