Facility to train students in metal work

The facility, which will be built on school grounds, will be fitted out with industrial equipment.MERREDIN Senior High School in Western Australia will receive up to $3.9m for the construction of a trade training facility which will provide metal fabrication training, amongst other skills.
The facility, which will be built on school grounds, will be fitted out with industrial equipment. Merredin Senior was selected because it has an established vocational education and training program and strong partnerships with registered training organisations and employers.
According to the school and the WA government, planned facilities will help to alleviate the skills shortage in areas such as metal fabrication, painting, decorating, plumbing, gas fitting, building and construction.
Specifically, the Merredin Senior facility will target metal fabrication, welding, automotive and building and construction.
