Machining grade for interrupted steel turning

According to the manufacturer, the AC830P combines a tough substrate with the company’s Super FF coating structure, resulting in increased wear resistance when compared with conventional P30 material grades.SUMITOMO Electric Carbide has released a new machining grade for interrupted steel turning applications.

According to the manufacturer, the AC830P combines a tough substrate with the company’s Super FF coating structure, resulting in increased wear resistance when compared with conventional P30 material grades.

The new grade is said to also outperform conventional P20 grades. It is available in a variety of geometries which are coupled with chipbreakers, allowing machining of light to heavy depths of cuts.

The AC830P can be used with the EGE chipbreaker for applications where a tough edge is needed. The chipbreaker allows for up to 0.6mm per revolution while still providing good chip control.
