Tools of the trade at risk

robbed of more than $2000 worth of tools.THE METAL working industry is finding scrap metal is not the only asset being targeted by thieves, with a Wauchope steel fabricator being robbed of more than $2000 worth of tools.
The Bennetts Steel facility was breached on 30 July 2008, and the tools of metal apprentice Chris Osbourne were stolen.
The unfortunate worker now has to borrow tools from his workmates. He claims to have built up his tools of trade over four years.
The thieves also took a trailer the steel fabrication company was working on as a community project. However, onsite caretakers believe they were specifically targeting the high-value tools.
