Tough flux cored electrode

The electrode is a flux cored wire which produces a weld deposit with 2.2 to 2.5% nickel.SELECT-Arc has released a low alloy, nickel-bearing electrode designed to weld carbon and low alloy steels.
The Select 820-Ni2 is said to be ideal for applications where good v-notch toughness is critical, and where tensile strength needs to be in the 80,000 to 100,000 psi range.
The electrode is a flux cored wire which produces a weld deposit with 2.2 to 2.5% nickel. It is said to have specially formulated slag constituents to provide puddle control. It also has fast freezing characteristics, allowing all-position welding.
The company also claims the electrode has a smooth spray arc transfer with minimal spatter. The bead profile is said to be smooth with minimum convexity.
The electrode can be used for steels such as ASTM A572, A575 and A734. It can be used for offshore platform construction, earthmoving, mining machinery and shipbuilding.
