Twin turret automated shaft lathes

A honeycomb-constructed column gives the machine rigidity and reduced weightFUJI has released two new twin turret automated shaft lathes for high volume applications with short cycle times.
According to the company, the ANS-300TTS and ANS-320TTS have four-axis simultaneous operation and gantry robots to achieve faster cycle times.
The lathes are said to have a rigid box way construction for better spindle output. The manufacturer claims high spindle and cutting thrust reduced process cycle time by around 50%.
A honeycomb-constructed column gives the machine rigidity and reduced weight. The company says the footprint is compact, with the ANS-300TTS taking up 1.7 by 2.1 by 2.9m, while the ANS-320TTS has a footprint of 2 by 2.1 by 3.2m.
An included two-axis high-speed gantry robot, also constructed by Fuji, allows the machines to carry up to 5kg and 10kg respectively. The SP1 Max Robot Controller is said to allow faster smoother simultaneous multi-axis movement.
The lathes are suited for machining pinion shafts, turbo charger shafts, input shafts, output shafts, axle shafts, and electric motor shafts. They are suited for turn diameters up to 0.18m and shaft work up to 0.3m long.
