World’s largest aluminium refinery opened in Brazil

VALE has opened the world’s biggest aluminium refinery in Brazil and has further announced it will invest in the region to boost output of various metals.
The refinery is located in the northern Brazilian town of Barcarena. It will produce 7% of the world’s aluminium supplies, with an annual output of 6.26Mt.
According to the company, it will also be investing to boost operations in iron, bauxite, aluminium, copper and nickel.
