Shamic Sheetmetal ups the ante with Ebe Express Bender from Maxitec

MAXITEC has supplied Shamic Sheetmetal (Aust) with a FINN-POWER Ebe Express Bender to help it meet its manufacturing demands.

Shamic Sheetmetal (Aust) manufactures HeatCharm, Coonara and Arrow domestic heaters. It uses sheet metal benders to create the product casings.

In order to distinguish itself from its competitors, the company decided to invest in sheet metal automation.

According to Shamic Sheetmetal, the new bending technology from Maxitec allowed it to produce its heaters a lot quicker than its competition, eliminating delays in delivery. This new flexibility allows it to cater fort he fluctuating seasonal demands.

The supplied FINN-POWER Ebe Express Bender, uses servo controllers instead of commonplace hydraulic controllers.

Maxitec claims this supplies completely accurate automation of complex tasks, better bending quality, increased flexibility, environmentally friendly operation, reduction in tedious and costly stoppages, and less vibration and noise.

As a result, Shamic Sheetmetal has been able to redeploy personnel into other areas of the business, while reaping the benefits of higher output. It uses the Ebe Express Bender to processes small batches, resulting in identical and quality parts.

The machine performs 90% of Shamic Sheetmetal’s folding needs, and bends panels up to 3mm thick.

According to Maxitec, FINN-POWER’s Ebe almost fully automates the bending cycle from the initial stage when a blank sheet is loaded right to the point of finalising the bent part, and the entire sequence can be achieved in a continuous lights-out automated process.
