ARCOS Industries has released a high nickel alloy electrode which is said to withstand harsh and corrosive environments.

According to the company, the Arcos 8N12H is for welding applications where high strength, ductility and corrosion resistance are needed.

The covered electrode is a high carbon wire said to have exceptional high temperature strength and oxidisation resistance. The company claims it was designed to meet demanding radiographic requirements.

The electrode welds base metals with similar composition and carbon steel. It can also be used to surface carbon steels.

The 8N12H can be used in harsh and corrosive environments such as desalination plants, petrochemical facilities, power generation plants, furnace equipment and pipe work.
