ACCORDING to Millsom, vacuum handling systems can aid in optimising metal working processes, whether the metal is in sheets, cut parts, finished, or semi-finished.
Vacuum tube lifters, lifting devices, suction pads, and crane systems can enable metal workers to quickly and safely load and unload machining systems, and transfer parts from one part of the factory to another.
The company distributes various types of vacuum handling systems. The VacuMaster Basic/Comfort, for example, is a modular system which includes electric vacuum generators, operator handles, longitudinal and transverse beams, and suction pads suited for sheet-metal parts. Loads can be tilted and turned using an electric linear drive.
Vacuum handling systems can be used with a range of crane systems, including overhead cranes, low friction track cranes, column-mounted slewing jib cranes and wall-mounted slewing jib cranes.
Millsom also sells special grippers for handling workpieces with holes or apertures, and grippers with oil-resistant suction pads for non-slip handling of slightly oily sheets of metal.
